Pre-Mixed Salt Brine Use Guide
Liquids Revolution Use Guide
Pre-Mixed Salt Brine
Ready-to-use liquid de-icing fluid for contractors who want to enter liquids without building full brine-making and blending infrastructure.
Pre-blended and filtered for application equipment.
Adjust based on surface, weather, and event severity.
Different blends for utility, cold weather, and sidewalks.
What it is
Pre-Mixed Salt Brine is a ready-to-use liquid de-icing fluid. It is designed to lower the barriers to implementing a liquids program by removing the need for on-site brine making, additive measuring, and tank blending.
The base brine is pre-blended with Liquids Revolution additives such as X1 or X2 at selected percentages to create a consistent, application-ready product.
Benefits
- Ready to use
- Lower implementation barriers
- Simplifies ice management
- Eliminates blending guesswork
- Consistent results
- Cost effective
- Reduces calculation errors
Standard application rates
Use rate guidance
750–825 L/Ha
Approx. 75–80 gal/acre.
1000–1200 L/Ha
Approx. 100–120 gal/acre.
Rates are guidelines only. Monitor conditions, surface response, residual performance, and customer requirements.
Blend Options
Utility Blend
Used in most application events. Fast acting with strong residual. Suitable for moderate to high moisture events with application-rate variance.
Temperature: 0 to -9°C
Additive: X1 @ 5% or X2 @ 7.5%
Cold Weather Blend
For colder events where more additive helps maintain performance while limiting the amount of liquid needed.
Temperature: -10 to -20°C
Additive: X1 @ 15% or X2 @ 20%
Sidewalk Blend
Designed to enhance clear surface conditions on concrete and interlocking sidewalks. Fast acting with strong residual.
Temperature: 0 to -9°C
Additive: X1 @ 20% or X2 @ 30%
Operational Notes
- Product is intended for operators without brine-making facilities.
- Use calibrated application equipment and monitor output.
- Adjust rates based on pavement temperature, precipitation, moisture, traffic, and desired residual.
- Filtered liquid helps reduce equipment issues, but sprayers and strainers still require proper maintenance.
- Deviations from current testing data come with risk. Monitor application performance and use responsibly.
